Mission
We know that spiritual work can be a lonely journey-both for seekers and providers! As an identity-inclusive resource, Threshold Magazine’s mission is to connect seekers with practitioners and merchants for all things spiritual, healing, and ritualistic in the Portland and Vancouver area. We aim to make this connection as affordable as possible for everyone. We are cognizant that practitioners and merchants are usually sole proprietorships and budgets are tight! We are a free publication, and we offer dirt-cheap advertising rates.
Land Acknowledgment
Threshold Magazine is based in Multnomah County. We offer respect and appreciation to the Indigenous peoples whose traditional homelands and hunting grounds are in Multnomah County. The land that we occupy as is unceded Indigenous land. The Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes made their homes along the Columbia River creating both permanent communities and seasonal encampments. Due to the strategic and systemic efforts to annihilate Indigenous peoples from these lands and history, there are many other tribes and Nations who traditionally lived, hunted and fished in what is now Multnomah County and Oregon that are not collectively remembered. Multnomah County was also a destination for the Indian Relocation Act of 1956, which coerced many Native people to leave their homes on tribal land and assimilate into the dominant culture.
